There are a wide variety of accessories for the AR-15 in America, from bayonets and lights to chainsaws.

We’ll tackle this very topic.

We’ll tell you how to use some of the best ones on the market and what they can offer you.

Why you should trust us

We begin by testing the products, in this case AR foregrips.ย The Pew Pew Tactical team has tested each foregrip in this list.

We test the foregrips that we recommend by sending hundreds of rounds over several weeks or even months.

We test for durability, ergonomics and value for money.

Best Vertical Grips & Foregrips

1.ย Daniel Defense Vertical Grip

Thisย Vertical Gripย makes a great choice.ย It is made of polymer and comes in a variety of colors.

This is an example of a vertical foregrip. It has rounded edges with flat sides.

The size is 3.25 inches high and 2 inches wide so it will fit most hands.

Shooters who use larger mitts may feel that their hands are a little dangling, but will still be able to get a good grip.

This grip is angled straight down, allowing the shooter to grasp it and pull his rifle more firmly into his shoulder.

Shooters using this grip can feel a difference when it comes to controlling recoil.ย When using the grip, it is not difficult to get a sight picture.

It also changes the ergonomics, which means that the support arm is less stressful on the wrist compared to a traditional cup grip on the handguard.

2.ย Magpul M-LOK MVG

Theย versionย vertical grip of the Magpul is similar to the Daniel Defense but a little more rounded.

This grip is also made from polymer and comes in many colors. It can be mounted right to the rail.ย The location of the grip will determine how you hold it.

The amount of space on the handguard can be altered.

The MVG grip is almost identical to the Daniel Defense grip. However, I did notice that the M-LOK hardware is a little beefier and costs less.

If you are using the old broomstick style, be sure to pull directly into your shoulder. Otherwise, shot placement may suffer.

I like shooting with a vertical grip, but I don’t use the traditional style of shooting using a broomstick.

These grips can be used for long training sessions (shooting) without a sling. They help distribute the weight while in low-ready or when resting your weapon muzzle down.

Grips that are horizontal or angled

Horizontal or angled grips are another option for the foregrip.ย These grips serve the same purpose but are more stretched out. They still offer the advantages of vertical grips, just in a different way.

3.ย Magpul Angled Fore Grip

Theย AFGย from Magpul is another polymer option that solves the same riddle in a new way.

The traditional grip is still present on the bottom handguard of the gun, but it has been angled down slightly.

This slight change allows the wrist to bend less and creates a more ergonomic position.

The AFG is perfect for shooters who prefer to use their thumbs over the bore.

It also cups your hand and provides you with reference points.

The rear bumper can be used to pull back, develop good shoulder pressure and improve recoil recovery.

As a stabilization tool, the front bumper can also be jammed in barricades.

This grip offers great value. It comes in five different styles andย five colors.

4.ย Strike Industries LINK Curved foregrip

Theย Curved Foregripย will appeal to those who prefer a traditional grip for their support hand.

The bumpers are designed to cup the hand and allow for the gun to be pulled forward or backward into the shoulder.

The interior of the foregrip has serrated edges that allow forย excellentย retention.

Strike Industries is well known for its cool innovations. This foregrip is no exception.

The Link system allows for mounting to M-LOK and Keymod.ย The Link is made of aluminum coated with a tough coating. It’s also lightweight.

Special Grips

Several products on the market today defy categorization due to their different approaches in achieving the same goal as the foregrip.

5.ย Ryker Grip

Theย Ryker Gripย is a radical departure from traditional methods.

The developers at Ryker researched the body mechanics involved in moving and shooting a rifle.ย The developers at Ryker then developed a product which has many shooters scratching our heads — until we try it.

Ryker has some interesting backgrounds in the military, and they’ve done some testing on active-duty soldiers who have provided feedback.

The National Tactical Officers Association has also given the Ryker grip the thumbs-up. So, even though the Ryker grip looks completely different, serious shooters have given the Ryker Grips the thumbs-up.

It is designed to be an ergonomic grip mounted on the side of a rifle.

The thumb is pointing up and the palm facing the rifle.ย This unorthodox grip removes much of the binding in the wrist and forearm.

Shooters canย controlย their guns with surprising accuracy and speed.

The Ryker is made from polymer, and it is durable.

Currently, it must be mounted to a Picatinny side rail. Unfortunately, this limits the handguards that can use it.ย Lefties do not need to worry, as it is reversible.

6.ย Bravo Company KAG

Theย Kinesthetic Angled Gripย was developed by BCM and Travis Haley of Haley Strategic Partners. It is a minimalistic approach that delivers maximum results.

The KAG is just as useful as a comma.

This small grip is firmly rooted in theย horizontal andย foregrip universes.

The KAG is mounted on the bottom of the handguard and serves as an excellent reference for the backside of your hands.

The chair is small and you barely notice it, but is very comfortable.

It cup the back of your hands and angles them down slightly to release some of the binding in the joints that occurs when you raise the file.

It is small enough to hold your hand comfortably and pull the rifle into your shoulder.

You can use the KAG with either a traditional support (although more ergonomic) grip or thumb-over-bore.

You can choose any color as long as it is black.

7.ย Tyrant Designs Mod Foregrip

Newcomer who looks great and performs well.

Theย Mod foregripย by Tyrant Designs is a great grip. Its rubberized texture on the milled aluminium gives it a nice, secure feel.

If you are looking for a foregrip with a full grip that is unique…

What is the AR-15 Foregrip?

This can be a broad term for a variety of accessories that you add to your handguard to provide a new type of grip.

Shooters hold an AR-15 with the handguard at the bottom and their support hand cupped in a cupping-grip.

Over the years, different objects have changed the way that the support hand fuses with the gun.

This can be based on personal preferences.

What does it do?

The foregrip’s main purpose is to control recoil.

The AR platform in 5.56 or.223 is not a beast that you can’t control when you pull the trigger. However, full-auto or rapid-fire variants make it harder to place shots.

Foregrips are designed as a handle that offers more resistance to the recoil than a handguard. This allows you to tighten the rifle into your shoulder.

Foregrips can be pushed into barricades for stabilizing shooting positions.

This article will cover three subcategories of foregrips:ย horizontal, vertical and special.

Vertical foregrips, which are mounted on the AR’s handguard at the bottom, are quite common.

Vertical foregrips, also known as “broomsticks” in the military have a variety of different versions and offer distinct advantages.

Horizontal grips are those that run along the bottom edge of the handguard. They still allow you to grip the rifle more tightly and pull it into your shoulder.

Special grips are just that.ย Special grips are exactly that.

Final Thoughts

You have a lot of options when it comes time to mount a foregrip on your handguard.

You have to choose which one works best for you. The only way to know is to test them.

All the products I’ve mentioned are excellent.ย You may also find a rifle that works well for you based on how you use it.

If you like your new sled, then you should train with it.

What is your favorite foregrip, then?ย After you get a foregrip, you will want to upgrade your rifle with other upgrades.ย Check out our articles about the 5 Best AR-15 flashlights, the Best AR-15 handguards and the Best AR-15 upgrades.
